DRESSERS ARE BUREAUS
And vice versa
The first dressers I made were for my children. I designed them with corner posts and frame and panel sides and back, and dovetailed drawers, because I wanted them to work well their entire lives. They still use them. I hand cut the dovetails and turned the knobs on my lathe. All the dressers I've made since have been variations on this theme- simple, elegant, and pretty from all sides. I feel the back should be as pretty as the front, because someone- a grandchild perhaps- may find it useful as a room divider some day.
