WOOD SOURCES AND SUSTAINABILITY

I have used numerous wood suppliers over the years, but my principal supplier is Rex Lumber, which has been an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council-  certified supplier since 2001. I also occasionally buy wood from smaller local suppliers, who frequently saw wood that has been harvested from local land owners who have enrolled their land in Vermont’s Current Use Program (https://fpr.vermont.gov/UseValueAppraisal) and are following a forestry management plan designed by a licensed forester (my property is enrolled in this program). One would be hard put to find a greener use for lumber than well made hardwood furniture!
